From a young age I started developing interest in the art of make-up...
About: About
While being bored on the island Curaçao I started experimenting with make-up. Taking pictures of the make-up look and taking it back off. They had such beautiful colors for the dark skin!

When I moved back to the Netherlands I already knew; I'm going to start my own business in the cosmetic industry! So I started my Allround Beautician training for 3 years.
​
In the first year of my study I started as an intern in this luxury perfumery, Douglas. The next few years of my study I worked there as a beauty specialist.
During these years I've noticed how much lack there is to the knowledge of make-up on the dark skin. And worse, the availability of products! This is how I saw a hole in the market.

So I've started my research and bumped into the study Cosmetic Science in London. Which was very high priced and unreachable in my current situation. So I needed to be creative to make my dream happening.

In the meanwhile I've seen more cosmetic brands coming out with make-up for dark skinned people. As how the range of all cosmetic hair products also got better and better. So the rush to start has been taken off.
​
This is how my new idea started to bloom.
​
Let's travel the world and find natural ingrediënts from all over the world to start my own cosmetic line when the time is right! But first I need all the right experience.
​
With this beautiful idea I finished my study. I stopped working at the biggest perfumery in the Netherlands, to do something that fitted a bit more with my allround study. Next to make-up, giving massages was my favorite work as a beautician.
Since I was already an intern at 2 different spas, I started working there after my study. This gave me the opportunity to get training in the biggest spa of the Netherlands, Thermae 2000. What a luxurious experience!

Over here my business idea started to bloom even more. Having my own spa with my own natural cosmetic line became a dream.

So I wanted to create my own style of giving massages. Giving a massage is almost like dancing. But to get that freedom I needed to work for myself, which would go against the jobs policy. So I stopped working in the spa and started working for myself as a massage therapist.
At the same time I went back to my favorite luxury perfumery. Coming back to the possibilities of working for these big cosmetic brands, Smashbox and Benefit, as brand ambassador has given me the perfect insight of how to promote my own brand in the future.

To work later as an assistant manager and help all the brand ambassadors in the store out, was a blessing. This is how I learnt the ins and outs of how to supervise my own store.
​
From here on out I got an offer to work as an office manager for an online marketing office. Helping to organize this office gave me the perfect insight into how I could start and manage my online webshop.

Then it was time to start traveling. In the land down under where it was perfect to do some farm work, Australia. Working on farms has taught me a lot about maintaining trees. As how I also have made some hair products out of the fruits I've picked!

After this amazing farm experience I started working for this organic cosmetic brand, Lush. This brand is worldwide famous for being 100% vegetarian and 60% up to 80% vegan friendly. What an example and what a closure it was for all of my experiences put together!
